Meet the 2019 CTAR Board of Directors

The 2018 Nominating Committee has named the officers and directors for the 2019 CTAR leadership positions. One candidate was selected for each vacancy, and was elected by acclamation as no additional candidates were submitted. These candidates were confirmed by the board of directors on October 17, 2018.

Edward Oswald | 2019 CTAR President
Broker-in-Charge, Oswald Cooke & Associates

Edward is the Broker-in-Charge at Oswald Cooke & Associates and he oversees the general day-to-day operations of the company which include general brokerage, property management and the project management of OCA’s in-house development projects. Edward holds a BS from the Citadel (1995) as well as a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University (1998). In 2007, he began his career in real estate and his prior experience in wetland consulting and development entitlement provides a unique skill set which has proven invaluable in the acquisition and disposition of raw and vacant land for development purposes.

Edward enjoys spending time with his family and being very involved in the lives of his two children, Will and Sarah. Edward enjoys the wonderful Lowcountry outdoors both on land and in the water; he is an avid boater, fisherman, hunter and sports fan/enthusiast. He and his wife Cameron live in Mount Pleasant with their children.

Bobette Fisher | President Elect
Realtor®, Carolina One Real Estate

Bobette has been a real estate agent since 2002 and with her current brokerage Carolina One Real Estate since 2009. She holds the designations of CIPS, CRS, GRI and SFR. She has served in leadership on the executive board of the SC Council of Residential Specialists and, was President of the SC Chapter in 2013. She received SC CRS of the Year in 2014 and the Omega Tau Rho Award, as nominated by her peers in SC in 2015.

Bobette has been in the Charleston area since 2000. She is married, has two grown children and is a native of Elkhart, Indiana. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, the local beaches and, all the great food and fun activities the Lowcountry offers!

 

Rusty Hughes | Vice President of Finance
Broker-in-Charge, Carolina One Real Estate

Rusty is a 20-year veteran of the Real estate industry.  He has served in many roles during his real estate career including real estate appraiser, real estate agent, team leader, and broker in charge.  He has received numerous awards for his real estate accomplishments: Realtor of Distinction, President’s Circle, Top 20 Team in the Carolina region, and voted “Best Realtor in Charleston” by the Charleston City Paper.  He has been very involved at CTAR, having served on serving on several committees and as Chair/Vice Chair of the Realtors Housing Opportunity Fund, a CTAR Director, and CTAR Vice President of Administration. Rusty is a dad of three, the 5th of 6 kids and loves all things played with a ball, he also loves hats and afternoons with his family on or near the water.


Jon Stroud | Vice President of Administration
Broker Associate, The Boulevard Company

Jon, although not from Charleston originally, tells everyone that he got here as quickly as he could! Jon has been in the real estate industry for over 14 years and holds the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and e-Pro designations. He and his Team are currently with The Boulevard Company Real Estate.  Jon has served on the CTAR Board and as a Director, and will serve as VP of Admin this year. He also serves on the Professional Standards and Legislative Committees. He is active in his community in music and hike ministries. He resides in Mt. Pleasant with his wife and has two children in college.

 

Shakeima Clark Chatman | Director
Broker Associate. Carolina Elite Real Estate

Shakeima Clark Chatman is a broker associate with Carolina Elite Real Estate, and has seven years of experience in the real estate industry. Honesty and integrity, along with determination and dedication, are philosophies that Shakeima strives for in all aspects of her life. Applying these principles to her business has allowed her to be a top producing real estate agent who has been recognized as a REALTOR® of Distinction for multiple years. She has served as the Reading with REALTORS® Co-Chair and has served on multiple non-profit boards in the community.  Currently, she serves on the board of The Royal Foundation and is the Director of DIVAS In Training, Inc., a female youth mentor program. Shakeima shares her life with her husband, Andre and daughter, Kendyl.

 

Ashley Jackrel | Director
Realtor®, Carolina One Commercial Real Estate

Ashley specializes in commercial brokerage with Carolina One Commercial Real Estate. She is a member of CCIM and CREW, and is an alumna of Leadership Charleston. Ashley has chaired the CTAR Candidate Screening Committee, and during her term, REALTORS® voted through fifteen of sixteen recommended candidates in the 2018 primary election, upsetting three incumbents. Ashley resides in West Ashley and enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, practicing yoga, and indulging in meals at many of the wonderful Charleston-area restaurants.

 

Stacy Jennings | Director
Broker- in- Charge, Smith Spencer Real Estate

Introduced to the love of her life, Charleston, at the age of 17 Stacy happened into a career in Real Estate over twelve years ago as an assistant with Daniel Island Real Estate. Stacy has held various leadership positions within the association, the most rewarding has been serving as Chair of Leadership Development. Stacy believes that it is vital for Realtors® to develop a niche and execute their craft with expertise and finesse. Three years ago, a vision became reality opening Smith Spencer Real Estate where Stacy serves as broker in charge. In her downtime, Stacy enjoys reading and working out.

 

Nell Postell | NAR Director
Realtor®, Carolina One Real Estate

Nell will return to the CTAR Board of Directors to serve another term as NAR Director. South Carolina native has previously served as both CTAR President and SCR President, along with many other leadership roles at the local, state and national levels. Nell has been recognized as a Golden “R” level investor with the Realtors® Political Action Committee. Nell has two children, Helen and Richard Arnold.
