CTAR Global Chapter
The CTAR Global Business Chapter was established in 2019 to provide the education to expand core real estate skills and knowledge needed to meet the unique needs of foreign clients. This includes building awareness of culturally appropriate business practices and providing networking opportunities with other international business professionals and organizations.
Chapter members have completed courses required to earn the National Association of Realtor®, Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). These designees are Realtors® who have undergone this specialized training focused on conducting business in the international real estate arena. Currently there are approximately 4,100 CIPS designees located in 50 countries.

NAR Recognizes Charleston’s Global Business Council (2019)
The CTAR Global Business Council was formed in 2013 as a committee of members dedicated to globally themed education, programming, and networking. The council’s leadership group are CIPS designees and assist the CTAR staff liaison in planning global programs, hosting CIPS courses, and collaborating with neighboring boards to build awareness among members of the global business opportunities that surround them- as well as the services those members offer to the international community. Additionally, the Global Business Council acts as a Realtor®-driven community resource, helping REALTORS® build partnerships with globally-minded businesses, mortgage brokers, attorneys, and other relevant local business partners.

Many of our CTAR Global Business Chapter members are involved as volunteers and utilize Global Fluency resources including the Charleston Community Guide to help clients feel welcome, and connect to the community. CRDA also releases an annual “global connectivity snapshot” that provides a concise distillation of the significance of global engagement to the region’s prosperity.
