May is Realtor® Party Month

advocacy

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors® is excited to announce May as REALTOR® Party Month.  What does this mean?  Each week during the month of May, CTAR members will be encouraged help advocate for the REALTOR® Party. How can you help? Simple —Vote, Act, and Invest.

VOTE Week: May 7 – May 13
The most important thing a Realtor® can do to protect private property rights and preserve the America dream of homeownership is vote. Click here to register to vote or check your voter registration status.

Once you’re registered to vote, be on the lookout for CTAR Voter Guides during election season. As a service to all members, a volunteer group of your Realtor® peers take the time each election cycle to interview the candidates running for office. These voter guides identify candidates who are pro-business, pro-public property rights and whose values closely align with Realtor® interests. Contact your Government Affairs Director, Patrick Arnold, to learn how to get involved.

ACT Week: May 14 – May 20
How do we advocate? We talk with our public officials and collaborate with like-minded associations. If you’re attending the  Realtor® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, join us on Wednesday (May 17) when we visit our Congressmen and Senators in Capitol Hill.

If you would like to know about our partners in advocacy, check out the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Charleston Home Builders Association, South Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association, and the SC Community Land Fund.

You can advocate right now by clicking on the link to contact your Senator and ask for his or her support on H.3886, Homeowners Association (HOA) Legislation.  H.3886 is one of SCR’s top legislative priorities this session and is an extremely important first step in providing uniformity and relief for homeowners across the state.

INVEST Week: May 21 – May 27
Why give to RPAC? It’s simple: RPAC is your best investment in real estate. Since 1969, the Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-Realtor® candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is clear: REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®.
