Congratulations to the 2016 Leadership Class Graduates!

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors® (CTAR) congratulates the graduates of the 2016 class of the CTAR Leadership Development Program! Eleven local Realtors® completed the program, which is designed to provide those with interest in taking a leadership role in the Association and their community the education and training to enhance and develop their leadership skills.

The three-month program included four sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of leadership development: teambuilding, communication, legislative and community activism as well as effective leadership. Speakers for the various sessions include local business and community leaders like Cindy Grosso of Charleston School of Protocol and Etiquette, Mt. Pleasant Town Councilman Mark Smith, Michelle Mapp with the SC Community Loan Fund and CTAR President Michael Sally. This year’s program was chaired by John Cowan with Carolina One Real Estate and Stacy Smith Jennings with Smith Spencer Real Estate.

“This program, celebrating its fifth year, has helped more than 75 Realtor® members develop their leadership, legislative and communication skills, which will help them not only if they choose to pursue a leadership position with the Association or in the community, but also in their day-to-day business. We provide the opportunity for our members to learn from those who have achieved success in real estate as well as other industries” said Wil Riley, CEO of CTAR.

Announcing the 2014 CTAR Board of Directors!

Congratulations to the following REALTORS® who will serve as the 2014 CTAR Leadership team:

Corwyn Melette | 2014 President
Broker-in-Charge, Corwyn J. Melette and Associates
Corwyn Melette will serve as CTAR President.
 A South Carolina native hailing from the Pee Dee area, Corwyn J. Melette is the Broker-in-Charge of Corwyn J. Melette and Associates. In the more than 10 years Corwyn has been in the real estate industry he has proven himself to be a valuable asset—he has been named a Top Producing Agent with a prominent local real estate franchise and, in 2006, received a Sales Achievement Award for his outstanding work. He also works with the Reading with REALTORS® program and was named 2011 Charleston REALTOR® of the Year.

 

Matthew DeAntonio | 2014 President-Elect

Matthew DeAntonio will serve as President-Elect. Born in Charleston and raised by multi-generational Charlestonians, Matt attended the University of South Carolina and received his degree in Advertising. Matt lived on Sullivan’s Island for 9 years before marrying his wife Cindy Johnson DeAntonio and now resides on the Isle of Palms. He is active in the REALTORS® Housing Opportunities Fund, Ethics Committees, and CCIM education.

 

Michael Sally | Vice President of Administration

Michael Sally will serve as the Vice President of Administration
. Michael is a Hanahan native and graduate of Francis Marion University. Michael has served as Chairman for the City of Hanahan Planning Commission for 3 years, was elected to Hanahan City Council in 2010 and served as Mayor Pro Tem. Michael is also the NAR Federal Political Coordinator for Senator Tim Scott and served as Legislative Group Chairman at CTAR. Michael married his high school sweetheart and they live in Hanahan, where they enjoy spending family time backpacking, boating, camping, hunting and fishing.

 

Dave Sansom | Vice President of Finance
Broker Associate, Carolina One
Dave Sansom will serve as the Vice President of Finance. Dave Sansom grew up in Western Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. He and his wife Nancy moved to Charleston in 2000 and he has been in residential real estate since late 2000. Dave sold real estate for eight years before being named Broker In Charge of Carolina One Real Estate’s Coleman Boulevard office in Mount Pleasant in mid 2008. Dave also served several years on the MLS Board of Directors, most recently as MLS President. Dave and Nancy have have two sons ages 5 and 9 and live in Mount Pleasant.

 

 

Jim Hamilton | Director

Jim is a Summerville native, and still resides there with his wife and three children. Jim was raised in a real estate family and is proud to help people realize their dream of homeownership. Jim is active as an Elder at Summerville Presbyterian Church as well as with the Summerville Family YMCA and Dorchester II Schools. In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time his wife, watching his children swim competitively, playing a little golf, and spending time at the beach with family.

 

 

Trey Lucy | Director

Thomas E. Lucy, III (Trey) is a principal and co-founder of Belk | Lucy, an innovative and multi-dimensional leading commercial real estate firm located in the Charleston, SC MSA. Trey, and his business partner, Blair Belk provide unparalleled service while delivering results to their clients across South Carolina, Georgia
and North Carolina. Since moving to the area in 2007, Trey has been involved in more than 200 sales and leasing transactions. Trey is an active contributor to his community and is involved in various public service, professional, and community organizations. He is originally from Atlanta, GA and has a B.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of Georgia. Trey, his wife Katie, and their daughters Sarah Kate and Hayes live in Mt. Pleasant.

 

Edward Oswald | Director

Edward is a Mount Pleasant native with roots that run deep in the farming communities across the state. Edward is a graduate of both The Citadel and Duke. Before getting into real estate, Edward worked as an environmental consultant, primarily for private developer clients. Edward is now the Broker in Charge and owner of Oswald Cooke and Associates, a small firm that specializes in land brokerage for multi-family and single-family developments, site selection for LIHTC development (statewide) and development and/or brokerage of single-tenant, net-leased investment real estate. Edward and his wife have two children, Will and Sarah, and are active members of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

Charleston Realtors complete Leadership Development Program

The Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS® (CTAR) is pleased to announce the thirteen graduates of the inaugural class of the CTAR Leadership Development Program. The program is designed to provide those with interest in taking a leadership role in the Association and their community the education and training to enhance and develop their leadership skills.
