2022 CTAR Board of Directors Slate Recommendations Announced
The 2021 Nominating Committee has announced their recommendations for the 2022 CTAR leadership positions.
One candidate has been selected for each vacancy and will be elected by acclamation should no additional candidates be submitted. Additional candidates may be placed in nomination by a petition signed by at least 3 percent of Realtor®️ members eligible to vote. If petition candidates are submitted, email voting will be conducted. Otherwise these slated candidates will be approved by acclamation.
Any petition for additional candidates must be submitted no later than October 19, 2021.
The following Realtors®️ are the current 2022 CTAR Leadership Candidates:
Jon Stroud | President
REALTOR®, The Boulevard Company, LLC
Jon, although not from Charleston originally, tells everyone that he got here as quickly as he could! Jon has been in the real estate industry for over 17 years, and holds the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and e-Pro designations. He and his Team are currently with The Boulevard Company Real Estate. Jon has served on the CTAR Board and as a Director, 1st Vice President, and President Elect. Jon will serve as President on the Board this year. He also has served on the Education Committee, Legislative Committee, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. He is active in his community in music and hike ministries. He resides in Mt. Pleasant with his wife of 31 years, and has two girls. Jon’s wife is a Project Manager for a government contractor, supporting the US Coast Guard. The youngest Daughter is a Graduate of USC, currently working in a Psychiatry Practice. She is pursuing a Masters in Therapy. The oldest daughter recently graduated from Pharmacy School and is a Pharmacist in Mt. Pleasant. The oldest is also recently engaged. Jon’s home is rounded out with two dogs, Gabby and Sullivan.
Drew Grossklaus | First Vice President
Broker-in-Charge, William Means Real Estate
Drew Grossklaus is the William Means’ Director of Sales and East Cooper Broker-In-Charge. Drew brings a wealth of strategic sales, marketing, creative and analytical talent to the team, drawing on more than 20 years of real estate and development sales, marketing, advertising, and promotions experience.
As Director of Sales and Marketing for the I’On Group, Drew was instrumental in closing over $350 million in residential homesite and home sales, providing direction and strategy to the sales agents, support staff, investors and owners. In addition to his sales and marketing roles at the I’On Group, he was actively involved with the relations and management of the I’On Builder’s Guild. Under Drew’s management, I’On won numerous PRISM (Professional Results in Sales and Marketing) awards from the Charleston Trident Homebuilders Association and was nominated for Marketer of Year by the Charleston American Marketing Association.
Prior to joining the I’On Group, Drew was Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Family Circle Cup and Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island. Drew created, planned and implemented all aspects of marketing, public relations for both the Tier 1 Professional Tennis Tournament and the Tennis Center. He also managed client services for members, vendors and top professional women’s tennis players.
Drew is a licensed real estate agent and currently serves on the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors Board of Directors in the Treasurer position and the South Carolina Realtors (SCR) Board of Directors.
Drew graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Accounting and received a Master’s degree from Western Illinois University. He resides in Mount Pleasant.
Matt Anderson | Treasurer
Broker, The Boulevard Company, LLC
Matt is the founding Principal of Matt Anderson Properties and the Charleston Home Search team with the Boulevard Company. He was born and raised on Sullivans Island, has been selling real estate full-time since 2006, and consistently ranks amongst the top 1% of agents by volume in the Charleston Trident MLS. Matt has extensive experience working with Residential, Multi-Family, and Commercial investors/developers and his passion lies in the adaptive reuse of historically significant and urban infill projects on the Peninsula. Matt is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s local chapter, serves on the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Developers Council, and serves on the CTAR Board of Directors. Matt, his wife Karen, and their son Asher live in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood Downtown.
Natalie Wright | Director
Broker-in-Charge, The Real Estate House International
Natalie Wright is a Charleston native and real estate broker. Beginning her real estate career over seven years ago, she discovered that her life’s mission involves helping people buy and sell properties. Natalie earned her Bachelor of Science in BA from the University of South Carolina – where she also double-majored in Finance & Management, which sparked her interest in real estate. First-time, move-up, & second home buyers, sellers, seniors, veterans, and investors are amongst the clients she’s had the pleasure of serving.
In her downtime, Natalie works within her community at her church, local organizations, and nearby schools, helping today’s youth. Amongst her passions is educating young adults on fiscal responsibilities. Realizing that exiting high schoolers don’t quite understand money, Natalie created the Youth Financial Workshop to prepare them for financial success. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoys spending time with her family, singing, and traveling.
Gerry Schauer | Director
REALTOR®, Avison Young – South Carolina
Gerry Schauer, CCIM, is an Avison Young Vice President and specialist in office properties in South Carolina, based in Charleston. He has practiced commercial brokerage since 2005 and is a leader in the market through sale and lease transactions. He joined Avison Young in 2013 and partnered with veteran office expert Jeremy Willits. Together they focus on landlord representation and property sales, successfully filling and selling millions of square feet. Gerry also works on tenants’ behalf, ranging from tech companies to escape rooms, all searching for the perfect home for their business. Gerry has received the Commercial Realtor of Distinction award every year since 2013 due to his sale and lease transaction volume as well as his commitment to continuing education.
Gerry brings value to his clients through boots-on-the-ground knowledge of the market, expert investment analysis, lease and contract negotiation, sale-leaseback scenarios, knowledge of opportunity zone and tax deferred exchanges (1031), and, with the assistance of a strong team, best-in-class property marketing & promotion. Gerry and his wife, Ellery, have two children and live in downtown Charleston. Gerry is an avid distance runner with ten marathons to date, including Boston, Munich, Stockholm, Reykjavik (Iceland), and Nice-Cannes, along the South of France.
Peter Derry | Director
REALTOR®, Hayden Jennings Properties
Peter Derry is a Broker Associate with Hayden Jennings Properties and will serve on the CTAR Board of Directors. He has lived in Charleston for over 20 years and has been in the Real Estate industry for almost 15 years. He is a Past President of CHS MLS, continues to serve on the Legislative Committee at CTAR & SCR and has chaired Candidate Screening & Reading with Realtors. Peter also is a past graduate of the CTAR Leadership Class of 2015 & SCR Leadership Class of 2020 and he holds designations as a CIPS, SRES & C2EX. Peter focuses on educating his clients in order for them to make the best decisions so they can maximize their largest investments, whether personal or for their portfolios.
Bobette Fisher | NAR Director
REALTOR®, Carolina One Real Estate
Bobette has been a real estate agent since 2002 and with her current brokerage Carolina One Real Estate since 2009. She holds the designations of CIPS, CRS, GRI and SFR. She has served in leadership on the executive board of the SC Council of Residential Specialist, was President of the SC Chapter in 2013. She received SC CRS of the Year in 2014 and the Omega Tau Rho Award as nominated by her peers in SC in 2015.
Bobette has been in the Charleston area since 2000. She is married, has two grown children and is a native of Elkhart, Indiana. In her off time, she enjoys traveling, the local beaches, all the great food and fun activities the Lowcountry offers!
