Realtors Giving Back

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors® (CTAR) has a long-standing commitment to fostering a culture of community among its staff and membership.

During this pandemic, we have heard stories of Realtors® going above and beyond to support our communities–buying groceries for a neighbor in need, supporting our healthcare community, calling and checking in on those who we know are stuck at home alone, supporting local businesses or making a donation to a non-profit that needs our support now more than ever—our Realtor® community is a community of helpers during this pandemic.

Your Association could not be more proud of our Realtor® community and we want everyone to hear what our incredible membership is doing to support those in need during this time.

We are accepting nominations to recognize those who are going above and beyond to serve their clients, their neighbors and communities during this time. Please let us know what you or your Realtor® colleagues are doing to bring others relief or happiness during this time–we want to recognize all of your efforts in video, email and social posts that we can use to share the GOOD news that is happening amidst the current crisis.

FlexMLS Security

Beginning July 1, you’ll need to ensure that you have an updated browser to access FlexMLS without any issues.

This is due to an update in browser security requirements, where all browsers must supportTransport Layer Security protocol 1.2 (TLS 1.2). This is an industry standard designed to protect the privacy of information communicated over the internet.

Most users will not experience any issues, as the current versions of all the major browsers already support TLS 1.2.

What does this mean for me?
If you already use current, up-to-date browsers and computers (or phones, tablets, and other devices), you should not even notice this change. However, older browsers may not recognize the new TLS 1.2 protocol and might have problems accessing the Flexmls System once this upgrade is in place.

How can I test my browser and computer?
To help you determine whether your browser or computer (or phone, tablet, or other device) will work with the new TLS 1.2 protocol, please test your browser here.

If you see “Your user agent has good protocol support,” then your browser will support the upcoming changes, and there’s no action you need to take.

If the test page doesn’t report that your user agent has good protocol support, simply update your browser version. If you are not sure how to do that, contact SCR Tech Support at

FlexMLS Listing Screen Upgrade

FlexMLS is always working to make upgrades throughout the system. Recently, they’ve been making minor changes to the interface on several screens so it is more user-friendly and consistent. Beginning May 31, you’ll see an updated look when you select a listing to edit on the Change Listing screen.

This update reflects the same styling recently released for the Change Listing screen, keeping the Change Listing interface consistent when selecting a listing to edit. This change only affects the user-interface; it will not change any existing functionality.

What Will Change
The user interface for selecting listings on the Change Listing screen will have a new, user-friendly layout. To go to the Change Listing screen, use the Menu to find and select Change Listing.

The Change Listing selection screen has a new layout, but keeps the same functionality. You can type in a specific MLS # and click Next to go to the change listing screen for that listing, or you can select a status and click on an MLS # to go to the Change Listing screen for that listing.

Once on the change listing screen, you can update listing information, price, status, media, and marketing activities (as allowed by your MLS).

Simplified Report Templates in FlexMLS

FlexMLS has a variety of simple, easy to use reports. The Tessera reports are one-page, flyer-style reports that are easy to create and edit. Recently, they were upgraded to add a variety of simplified templates.

To begin making a new Tessera report, use the menu to find and select My Reports.

Select New then choose Tessera Report.

There are now seven report templates to choose from: 5 Photo Flyer, 3 Column Flyer, 7 Photo Flyer, Flyer, Flyer with Availability Calendar, Flyer with Map, and One Line. The name of each report is descriptive to let you know exactly what you can expect when you select it (note that the thumbnail is not a preview of the report layout).

As before, once you select a report you can add, edit, and rename fields that display in the fixed containers allowing you to create clean, professional reports quickly and easily.

If you had previously created Tessera reports using the older templates, you can still use those reports.

This update makes selecting a report template easier to understand. Additionally, most of the new report templates include a container for your branding that displays your profile photo and contact information, making them ideal for creating flyers.

Big Updates in FlexMLS Pro

Big updates recently rolled out to your FlexMLS Pro app. You’re now able to edit your listings’ status, price, and photos from Flexmls Pro Mobile Web and the Flexmls Pro apps.

Along with these improvements, the Change Listing screens in Flexmls Web have a new, user-friendly interface to make the experience for editing listings as consistent as possible across devices.

See all of the updates in this quick video from FlexMLS

What’s new in Flexmls Pro?
When viewing the Details for one of your listings in Flexmls Pro Mobile Web or the Flexmls Pro Apps, click Edit to go to the Change Listing screen.

The Change Listing screen operates the same way as Flexmls Web. Change your status by tapping the status you’d like to use, complete the fields, and click Save

You can also change the List Price or add and rearrange photos from the Change Listing screen.

What’s new in Flexmls Web?
The Change Listing screen in Flexmls Web still has all of the previous functionality, but now has a new layout that responds to your screen size and has the same look and feel as the Flexmls Pro Change Listing screen. Note that the Price Change option is in its own section, so it is always easily accessible.
