Additional requirements for earning your CIPS:

pass the required courses (offered in this 5-day training)
local markets course
transaction tools course
pass three elective courses (3 offered in this 5-day training)
accumulate 100 elective points through activities or events
submit completed application and $75 fee
maintain CIPS network membership – $220 annually

NOTE: CTAR Realtor members who complete at least one CIPS course are eligible to join the 2024 CTAR Global Business Chapter. Contact Lora for more details on Global Business Chapter membership.

The CTAR Global Business Chapter was established in 2019 to provide the education to expand core real estate skills and knowledge needed to meet the unique needs of foreign clients. This includes building awareness of culturally appropriate business practices and providing networking opportunities with other international business professionals and organizations.

Requirements for CTAR Global Business Chapter Membership:

Confirmation of good-standing status as a REALTOR® member.
Successful completion of at least one *Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) course or the **At Home With Diversity (AHWD) course.
Completion of GBC membership application with payment of current Global Business Chapter membership dues here

Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS®️ has been awarded the PLATINUM Global Achievement Program Award for 2023! This is the fifth consecutive year CTAR GBC has reached the status of PLATINUM. A 12-person NAR staff review team determined that our Global Business Chapter rose above the competition, providing the highest level of service, giving members the tools, education and networking needed to handle international real estate- and also continued to work in innovative ways to connect to the global community in our market area and beyond.

Moving Cities Onto The Global Stage

The Charleston Regional Development Alliance-Global Fluency Initiative is supported by a committee of community volunteers, and focuses on both the integration of new foreign residents and outreach to Charlestonians on the benefits foreign investment and cultures provide. Many of our CTAR Global Business Chapter members are involved as volunteers and utilize Global Fluency resources including the Charleston Community Guide to help clients feel welcome, and connect to the community. CRDA also releases an annual “global connectivity snapshot” that provides a concise distillation of the significance of global engagement to the region’s prosperity.
